Things are coming together. The new G5 and Cinema Display will be here on Friday. I’m spending tonight putting together my new desk and chair and filing cabinet. I bought other boring things today like surge protectors and dry erase markers and stamps… basically all the things you take for granted when you work in an office. These types of things just magically appear in mass quantity and no one actually BUYS them… right? Somehow my checking account does not agree with that statement.
I feel very much like I am in productivity purgatory right now. I have work to do… but won’t be able to for a few more days and I just want to GET ON WITH IT. Patience has never been my natural tendency. I’m now at the mercy of UPS tracking numbers. It’s quite humbling, I assure you.
What? There is nothing boring about office supplies. I shop at Office Max for fun, and subsequently I have a gazillion paper clips, post-its and what-have-yous that I don’t use. Do you want me to send you some?

I’m torn… I find office supplies both boring and infinitely awesome. Today I found myself in deep thought over which pen holder and trashcan were “me.”

I feel that way about Lowes and Home Depot. I find myself believing that I can fix things, or build things (like a fence, or kitchen), when I just needed air filters and WD-40.
Composition notebooks are my laptop, Palm, calendar, sketchbook, umbrella, desk, grocery list and accounting lifeline. Not bad for $2. But I do love a good pen.

Isn’t it odd that when you walk into an office supply store, everyone there just seems very quiet and somehow more pissed off. Like everyone there wishes they could be in the Circuit City next door, but instead are picking up large manila folders, number 2 pencils, 110lb stock, and plastic storage bins.

i heart pens & easily spend 30 minutes on the pen aisle consideringing all the possibilities & drawbacks to fineline, gel ink, rollerballgliderthingies, felt tip, razor tip, brush tip, & the like. a good pen can make you or break you.
