My mom uses it for audio conferencing with her pc-using friends. Apparently, you have to pay, but it’s more cost-effective than making an international or long distance call.
I’ve attempted to get co-workers to use it so we’ll save on the CA > TX and TX > CA calls but to no avail. They just won’t try something new, though I’ve found the free service adequate.
Until something like this is standard for us lowly PC users and it easily interfaces with Macs I’m not sure it will prove helpful… well at least not helpful until my generation is in their 40s or 50s.
I’ve been using it to talk to my Someone in Australia. We had tried MSN and Yahoo chat features, but the sound quality of those always reminded me of radio stations who broadcast calls of people who have dialed in on their cellphones. I ♥ Skype!
heard of it. . .seems like an updated version of dialpad. Us mac whores prefer to talk directly from our computers through ichat.

I’ve used it a couple times, never had people who used it back though.

Skype is simply awesome…seeing as pc2pc is free, it beats phoning any time.
