Blocked Tags in Flickr

You know what feature i’d love to see on Flickr? I’d love to be able to block certain tags. I’m trying to think of an example… hm… let’s say… “CAT”. Yes, I would love to be able to block every picture tagged with “cat” so that they don’t show up at all. Ever. Ever again.

I don’t have anything in particular against cats… but seriously, something like 1 out of every 10 photos on the Flickr Interestingness page are cats. Cats are not that interesting to me and thus, I wish I could block them.

Yeah..I am starting to get annoyed as well. If it’s a good picture, then fine. But a lot of these aren’t even good photographs…

    Totally agree with you there…..

I wonder if there is a way to do it with a Greasemonkey user script in Firefox? Hmm…

255,000+ cat pictures. geez. i think at least every refresh on “interestingness” (on average) you will get a cat at least once (if not twice). people love their cats.

i have 3 cats, so i don’t hate cats at all; but i don’t need to see pictures of them over and over and over on flickr; that’s all

*meow* you will now have a flickr cat nightmare - pictures of cats will come crashing through your mind until you wake up in a cold sweat, breath a sigh of relief - it was all a dream…

I do have some pictures of my cats posted but I think just in general it’s a good idea to be able to filter out what you don’t like.
