Rachael Papo: Serial No. 3817131

Rachael Papo was an 18 photographer with the Israeli Air Force. Serial No. 3817131 is a wonderfully fascinating photographic view into the lives of her fellow soldiers. (Semi-related sidenote: I was sent this link in an email with the subject line: “Am I the only one that’s getting turned on by this?” Not exactly my first reaction, but I suppose boys will be boys.)

If girls carrying their AKs into the shower with them didn’t reach your supposedly Southern soul, then maybe you need to move back to South Carolina and reconnect with your roots.

That is the most intriguing/amazing set of photos I have seen in months.

    Gorgeous on all accounts.

Agreed. I was pretty spellbound the first time (and second, and third) I visited the site. Not to knock on the wonderfulness that is Flickr, but I’ve grown somewhat weary of the community there’s take on what is “interesting.” Pictures of your cat are not interesting. Model shoots are only so interesting.

The lives of people who live lives completely differently from me in another part of the world? Not that’s interesting.

Charlie, the funny thing is… I didn’t even have to look. I just thought, “Charlie means that one of the blond standing in the doorway.” You’re dependable, friend.
