I am amazed by the way they have continued to crisscross so many storylines without losing much dramatic steam. It keeps morphing into new genres (and almost a completely new show with every major revelation.) I love LOST more now than I did when I started watching it a few episodes into season 1.
I must echo your words…
OH.
MY.
DANG!
I kept waiting for something to happen to the traitor… :-/

usual lost episodes end with some mind-blowing conclusion. those keep me pretty happy. this one had something HUGE happen every 5 minutes for TWO STRAIGHT HOURS. spectacular.
i really liked Alcoholic Desmond.
go to the hansocareers site and look at the Seoul job…. hmmmmmm… sounds familiar.

I hate this show sometimes. Was it amazing? Yes. Did they answer some questions? A couple. Did they set up the awesome drama for next year with Penny Widmore looking for the Losties and possibly saving them? Yes. Can I wait till next year? Hell no. I hate this show sometimes.

My main concern is… what was up with that giant four-toed foot statue remnant?

Did you see the two grey letters in the job description?
Uh oooooooh. Right click on it and view source :-)

Woah. Did you this this one? http://hansocareers.com/3.asp
“The successful applicant will relocate to the coastal city of Vik, Iceland and work with a varied, diverse population of patients from around the world. Practical experience providing care for highly-gifted and highly unstable minds is essential…”
Biosphere. All the way. It’s all a brutal test environment with a complete “hands-off” approach by the Hanzo Foundation. The “others” are the original subjects who have since got wise to the project and attempted to subvert it. The old Dharma initiative has been abandoned but research still continues. The “others” have been assured their freedom if they complete their research.
Oh and Hurley is about to blow a fuse here. That’s obvious I suppose.
The 4-toe statue? Good LORD I have no theory for this. Something alien.

there’s a bunch of grey letters in all of the job descriptions… any ideas?
yeah, that statue makes no sense in the slightest.

I heard that Season 3 will have a lot more ‘Love’ in it - which I suppose is foreshadowed by Claire and Charlie. My fingers are crossed for a Days Of Our Lives style soap opera development between every character being jealous of another one but refusing to speak their minds because open communication is apparently totally stifled in that region.
Overall, great season finale. Answered tons of questions and raised even more. The way it should be. LOST is super successful TV. I do believe Jack has a plan.. and hopefully Michael will redeem himself by helping out. Or maybe he’ll get eaten by that Dharma shark we saw and we can forget about him.
Interesting note: Since Michael’s tyrannical voyage to find Walt four people on the show died. Shannon was killed looking for the dog (which would have been taken care of had Walt been around), Ana Lucia, Libby, and the random Other they shot. So apparently Walt’s life is worth 4 adult lives…

At least… so why were the Others so quick to give him up in exchange for Jack, Kate, and Sawyer? Is the Lost Love Triangle Trio MORE valauble than Walt, even with his as-yet fully explained special abilities?
said Joshua
There’s no way Michael can redeem himself for me. I think Hurley’s gonna go Rambo style on him. After Michael turns the boat around… which he will I think.
But… getting back to the WHOLE big picture here… the whole island lit up with (artificial?) light. There are remnants of a huge statue with 4 toes. Another quarantine door fell from the sky. What the heck is going on??
It seems originally this island was put there for the sake of observation. Not only from underground but perhaps even from above.(?)
Anyone ever see Truman show? I think Dharma was trying to do something like this long ago- but the project went to crap and this is what we have.
Wow… I just realised how crazy way-to-much thought I’ve put into this today. That’s it, I gotta stop. Back to reality Jeremy. Go make web sites and stop flooding Josh’s blog a with Lost spam. Sorry, I’m done I swear.

Actually, I think the quarantine door was the same one we’ve seen (from the hatch) just shot into the sky from the ensuing electromagnetic blast(?) that occurred when the pressure wasn’t released by pushing the button.
Or maybe not.
said Joshua
Charlie did not describe a 3rd blast to Claire.. which I find interesting. He said “ball of fire” which was referring to the dynamite.. and then something about a “flying fork” which was when he was helping Mr. Eko. So, did the magnet just “backfire” when Desmond turned the key and it allowed all the energy that was building up to discharge.. kind of like the EMP from The Matrix. Possibly what caused the white light? Who knows.

Oh. Yeah that would make more sense. Well sorta. I didn’t really remember a blast. And what would would have blasted? I kinda missed the whole “manual release” mechanics.
AAH! I got sucked back in. Curse you and your entertaining, now-slightly-moved blog.
