Money Clip/Credit Card

Thu 08/31/06

This concept for a combo money clip/credit card is so simple, inventive, and useful. As an avid fan of the money clip (even if my current one is actually a knife with a clip masquerading as a money clip) I can see the immediate daily usability. Bulky wallets are a pain. (via Josh Spear)

  1. Awesome! Now I can lose my money and credit card all at once!

  2. For years I’ve used the front pocket wallet — things don’t fall out, it doesn’t take up much space and it doesn’t make me sit lopsided.

  3. The Combo-Card is a pretty nifty idea, but there are some obvious design issues in my opinion. The way the name and number (on the left of the card) are going vertical instead of horizontal doesn’t allow for much room especially if you were blessed with a long surname. Simply flipping the text horizontally would add 50% more room. Also, if you lowered the size of the two logos (on the bottom) you could add a third box, maybe a digital signature or that new-fangled “quickpass” deal.

Also, for a more secure placement, another tab at the bottom would be nice. Placed on the opposite side that way your scratch is held both from the top and bottom.

  4. I’m with you Paul. I went small and compact in college and my ass thanks for it. Whoever thought of sticking the fat monstrity that is the wallet in your back-pocket should be shot.
