Are you sick of people looking at your breed of dog in fear because of politicians and the media? Then you need the Poodle disguise for Dobermans. (Disclaimer: dressing your dog like this will increase the chance of it biting you.)
Flickr set of bad album covers. Some of them are bad, some of them are so bad they’re good, some of them aren’t bad at all, they’re actually awesome with great typography, and some of them are Songs for Gay Dogs.
Maybe the prom would have been more enjoyable if my date and I had matching camo outfits. The corsage is also tasteful. Deep Woods Dangerman’s lady friend must love him A LOT.
The Museum of the African Diaspora presents Slave Narratives, stories of slavery survivors from the U.S., Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica and Sudan spanning three centuries. Fascinating and well-curated… spend some time when you can to sit and listen. It’s quite the experience.
TBS’ Very Funny Ads finally comes together through the combined efforts of the M.A. Turner (at Tubatomic Studio) and Armchair Media. Nice Flash work and I love the full screen pixelated images in the background.
(In case you missed Part 1.)
Today it is only 97°, one of the first days since my move to Texas when the triple digits haven’t suffocated me with their muy caliente grip. Sven The Jeep is currently too tired to start, but I’m sure it’s something minor – so in general, all is well.
I’m currently doing some in-house contract work for the lovely folks at LevelTen Design and I have some other things/people/places to ponder, peruse, and get to know over the next few months. Playing in-house-contract-work-musical-chairs isn’t what I expected in terms of finding the right fit here in Dallas, but I think it might prove to be a great way to get to know companies and teams on a more than surface level before I sign the foreseeable future of my life away to them. I’ll of course keep you updated as The Great Dallas Job Hunt™ marches on.
P.S. LevelTen, for all their wonderfulness, is a Windows environment and their Windows network does not blend well with my Mac spices so if you’ve sent me an email in the past few days and I haven’t responded yet, it’s due to a lack of outgoing mail superpowers. We’re trying to fix said issue. I will electronically touch you soon.
Learn how to install professional quality vertical lambo doors on any import or domestic car or truck for only $14.95. I so want to do this to a ridiculous vehicle… like a big truck.
Best cover ever of Europe’s The Final Countdown. Listen to that keyboard tone! Please stick around for the face-melting guitar solo.
Is anyone else out there in internets land using Quicksilver on their Mac? I’ve been dabbling for months and I’m starting to dig in (thanks in large part to the wonderful resources at 43 Folders). I love how much easier it makes doing just about everything (from launching apps to appending text files without opening them) but I feel like I’m just scratching the surface.
In September 2002, ten artists gathered at the Whitechapel gallery to create the largest signed and numbered limited edition artwork of one million. Watching the accompanying video, I’m unsure how they did this without going insane.
1. If you must smoke, you cannot smoke menthol cigarettes.
2. If you must drink beer, you cannot drink light beer.
3. If you are going to wear a kilt, you must wear at least 200 lbs and grow a beard first so that nobody gets confused.
4. If you go to a baseball game, you cannot bring a glove hoping to catch a foul ball, because that’s a girly thing to do. You’re a man, you barehand it, that’s the rule.
And if you’ve got a beer in one hand and nachos in the other, you catch it in your teeth, because you’re a man. And when they put your mug up on the bigscreen, you say “Thank you Jesus, for making me male.”

37signals is using their Campfire group chat app to have a chat room for everyone today. I can see Campfire being valuable to a multi-person design firm (or other office environment) who doesn’t want to use an IM client. I love that it’s browser-based.
225 Improv Everywhere agents shopped in slow motion at a New York Home Depot. Obviously, you should watch the videos, as the photos don’t really do much to capture the event.

Typobituaries – Daniel Mall reads a few typefaces their last rites. (Although honestly, not too many folks would be upset to never use these fonts again… I’d love to see a riskier list.)
Ford brings us, the non-discerning consumer, Bold Moves – “a rare glimpse behind the curtain as this iconic American company fights to right its path.” Right its path? As if they’ve been knocked off course by someone other than THEMSELVES and we should be interested in this mock-epic battle for the life of an automotive company? Despite their repeated attempts to convince us that they’re being authentic (and honestly, if you keep having to say it, are you sure you really are?) it just feels wrong, wrong, wrong. Every time I visit In the Habit, I get inspired all over again. Tiziana Haug… killing it. SO good. I really can’t say enough about how great the work is.
We can get so caught up with rankings and statistics that we miss the fact that the small but powerful audience that reads our blog is the perfect demographic for our products or services. You don’t have to build a relationship with everyone in the world with your blog, just…“your people.”
