Regina Spektor - Fidelity Video

I like the video for Regina Spektor’s new tune Fidelity. A tad cheesy towards the end, but the overall art direction is clever and some of the shots are stellar. Oh, and the song’s fun, too.

Video is fairly cool, the song started off pretty good then it hit the 28 second mark.

If you liked that, you’ll love this. She’s one of my favorite artists, Newsom, and her new album, Ys, is so good it’s bad. As in, nobody you know will have it cranked anywhere you go but I highly suggest forcing yourself to listen to it entirely in one sitting. You’ll notice my main man (and twin) Bill Callahan makes a brief appearence and keeps it subtle. Also, the hand-painted cover art is top notch (minus the typography).

If anyone is a fan of C.S. Lewis they’ll find many little squibs and references throughout her tracks. She’s basically an Elf that’s hot and amazingly talented.

Her first album, Milk-Eyed Mender is friggin’ fantastic. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

I dig most of what Newsom has going on, but I just CANNOT take her voice for very long. The first time I saw that Sprout and the Bean video (which is great) I thought it was cool (what a great harp melody) until she sang, and I had an uncontrollable cringe reaction.

Different strokes for different folks. I still love you.

Regina was absolutely phenomenal at the Gypsy Tea Room last month. Best concert I’ve been to in a long time. Regina is my musical meth.
