I have seen all these films and here's my take: The Oscars are bullshit, it's like they get a room full of semi-retarded producers (Bruckheimer?) and they drool, vote, and throw feces. The only performance nominated even remotely deserving in the "Performance by an actor in a leading role" is Peter O’Toole's in “Venus”. Leo is great in The Departed but he sucks Monkey-Socks in Blood Diamond. This ain't opinion. Dude can't even keep an accent (besides a Boston accent) in ANY FILM he's in. Mark Wahlberg in “The Departed” should win for Supporting. Comparatively speaking, anyway. Helen Mirren in “The Queen” for Best Female. No question. Monster House for animated film.
