That’s a bit harsh. YouTube has zero community or accountability to it, as opposed to Flickr, which is completely community-driven.
Yeah, sorry. It is a bit harsh. What I mean is that I’d hate to see Flickr go the way of Youtube. Flickr is pretty much the friendliest, nicest community on the web. Youtube also does have community. Presumably, back when it was much smaller, could have had those same positive attributes, but its size and the type of people frequenting it has done away with that now.
I don’t know if it’s the structure of Youtube or the kind of content that it offers that attracts that negative element, but I’d be concerned that it’s the latter. Of course if Flickr’s community remains intact there’s no reason for it to happen. Vimeo seems to be doing ok.
