blah, hmph, and meh. that’s what that press conf did for me. you forgot no uber handy mail app as well. and yes, hooray for patience. my sis/law had hers stolen 2 wks ago, had to buy another, and now the prices drop. dang.
See, I’m happy because I really just wanted the touchscreen, full screen, and limited web capablities that the iPhone had — not really the phone part (I’m happy with my $30, no contract service). Huzzah!
I’m finding it kind of hard to get excited about the “Touch.” I’m just not sure if I can spend $400 for an iPod that can’t hold half of my iTunes library. If either the capacity was a bit higher or it was a little cheaper, I’d be sold, but I think I might just have to go with the “Classic.”
I wonder how much the OS interface takes up (space wise) — look how much OSX does — I’m guessing a good chunk of disk real estate is going toward the interface. Hell, I like the touch for the full screen video and internet capabilities alone; I’ll just listen to music online if I have too …
paul is a douche
lee sucks eggs.
I’m just happy that the refurbished 8GB iPhone I’ve been eyeing for the past few weeks is now $349.
we haven’t even mentioned the phat fat nanos… guess they aren’t making the headlines.
The OSX on the phone takes up 700Mb os space. You have roughly 7.3Gb of space to work with.
And a 33% price drop in the iPhone makes me severely angry. Let’s punish everyone who loves Apple and buys our stuff early so that we can actually continue to develop products through the no-one-wants-to-buy-them phase… F*** You, Apple. I’m done with you.
Hells yes. I just bought myself an iPhone on the 29th, and my girlfriend one on the 2nd cause she was jealous (admittedly she paid half the price of her’s). The price protection thing is AWESOME. Within 10 days of purchase I call a number and they refund me $200 per phone. Yay timing.
The Nano’s are equivalent to man boobs (or moobs).
I think I really like what Gruber said about the price drop…If you didn’t think the iPhone was worth the 499 or 599 paid for it at the time of purchase, you shouldn’t have bought it at that price. It shouldn’t matter what happens to the price after you buy it.
And the Beat Goes On – New iPods
Wed 09/05/07
live.gizmodo.com has coverage of the Apple event going on right now. So far, new iPods galore – a
short, fat onechic-let one and a classic model (with 160GB of storage for $349.) Update: along with the poorly-named iPod Touch, essentially an iPhone minus the phone, mail, and GoogleMaps features. Also, they’ve nixed the low-selling 4GB iPhone and dropped the price on the 8GB by $200. Hooray for patience.
