People’s Faces and Their Shoes – Photography

Great photo project of people’s faces and their shoes. I like Bill the Carpenter and Karen the Film Editor. You can apparently tell a lot about a person via their shoes.

  1. I love this on principal..It flies in the face of one of the later lines in The Shawshank Redemption when Red wonders, “Honestly, who ever looks at a man’s shoes?”

    Nice photography and concept.

I’m not a big fan. I like the concept, the execution really seems naive. Last week I finished this amplifer cabinet, hand dovetailed, made out of ebony and master grade koa, in my birkenstocks. Two days ago I was in the local woodworking store and had a chat with a new friend of mine—an elderly man learning how to turn bowls on a lathe. He was wearing orthopedic shoes and had a button up shirt tucked in. Use a concept like this to show us how our ideas about people might be wrong rather than reinforce stereotypes. We’re not all little coblers with bears and excentric shoes.

That would be beards, not bears.
