Adobe InDesign, I Love You

Fri 11/30/07

I’m working on a CD package and a book jacket for two friends right now and it’s been so long since I’ve done a print project I almost forgot what a FREAKING AWESOME application Adobe InDesign is. Why can’t Photoshop be this awesome and easy to use?

  1. I completely agree, I got CS3 a few weeks ago and after using CS the new indesign was love at first layout.

  2. man. aaron martin tried helping me use indesign yesterday. i am still clueless… then again, i’m clueless with illustrator too. photoshop is my vice, it seems.

  3. Can I just say that I recently discovered a similar love of Lightroom. I might actually make some headway in processing the hundreds of photos I have lying around.

  4. I wish all of the Adobe applications would behave the same way (instead of the current list of 3279470425613 tiny idiosyncrasies), and InDesign’s behavior should be the gold standard that Illustrator and Photoshop have to hold to.

    Here, here!

  6. I just learned InDesign a few months ago, we use it to layout the school paper. It can be very frustrating at times, but I don’t know of any program that could do it better that’s for sure. I wish we had the newest version though.

  7. Try working on a print project in InDesign and then switching to do something in Flash – I have to say I was expecting the former Macromedia apps to be a little more Adobified in CS3 – the UI of Flash makes Photoshop look easy – ugh
