Quote, “TypeNeu reports on the past, present and the future of typographic culture.” That logo is just plain gorgeous, especially in red like the About page.
15 Amazing Coincidences. Nothing tops #12 or #5. Nothing.
Be regular and orderly in your life so that you may be violent and original in your work.

I find myself unable to stop listening to French electronica duo Justice. I’m all like “oh, there I am, dancing uncontrollably to utterly nasty electronic riffs in a seated position with headphones on. Yet again.” (I heard them via Lee McDerment who was introduced to them via Ken Wilson.)
The Library of Congress has a Flickr account full of photographic GOLD.

My good friend Joshua Longbrake has a new photography portfolio up. The prints are available for purchase. Each photo is an edition of 20 in various formats (8×10 & 11×14 on print paper and 16×20 & 24×36 on canvas.) Supporting artists at the grassroots level makes me happy.
[sno-hawk] — noun
1. the strip of snow or ice left affixed to the top middle section of the roof of a motor vehicle when the driver is too lazy or rushed to fully scrape it off
2. (rare) the mohawk of an albino
[Origin: 2007, coined while driving in Boston and being pelted with other vehicle's quickly-detaching snowhawk remains]
Go to Eli McFadden‘s website. Click “port 2″. Trip out over all the gorgeous fine art macro photos that look like other worlds. Completely amazing work. I need prints of some of these, and I typically HATE flower photos. (Also, be sure to check out Eli’s excellent contributions to Whiskerino this year.)
So it “snowed” in upperstate South Carolina last night. The schools districts are closed for the day. Apparently that means our office is, too. Sometimes, having a TV would come in handy. Sigh…
NewSpring Church is 8 years old today.
I started work here (again) a few weeks ago and it’s feeling less and less odd to be here everyday, and more and more fitting and awesome. In this, our ninth year, I have a number of large-ish projects (both conceptually and from a scale standpoint) on my plate, as well as incalculable smaller things to do. Hopefully some of it will start rolling out into the public eye before summer.
It’s going to be a good year.
Time.com’s Ana Marie Cox is using Twitter to follow Republican Presidential candidates on the primary trail. Nuggets of pure gold, in easily-digestible 140-character format.
Web design Flash gurus Group94 finally get around to launching a new site. (Also be sure to check out the interim videocasts they did as their temporary solution prior to the relaunch. It was a brilliant narrative and a clever way to communicate and show off work in a fresh way, without a “real” website.)
Genoco developed this slick iPhone/touch interface for Starbucks so customers can order customized drinks without standing in line, and pay for them using an easy, register-less method.
The Whiskerino Bazaar is up and running, freshly-stocked with these lovely gradient-esque t-shirts alongside some other delightfully odd beard-related participant-made merchandise. Go celebrate beardedness and commerce, all at once.
Here’s a fantastic short article from Identityworks on choosing a symbol or a wordmark for logo/identity projects with concise reasoning/justifications for both.
Dave Pell unveils his pick for The Best Peanut Butter in the World. (We’ll see about that.)
We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
