This is really cool. I guess the only thing is people can’t download the mix, err muxtape. It’s like an internet radio.
Which I actually like. This way I can find music I enjoy, and then go get it myself.
Great idea. Nice, simple execution… My initial thought was that links to an artist’s site or music purchase/download area would be nice but I almost think this is one of those web services that is better because of it’s limits… Like you said… I can go get the music myself once I’ve been introduced to it.
Here’s mine (in progress): weschilders.muxtape.com
Muxtape is undeniably awesome … but is it headed for a quick shutdown?
Also, M. Ward is a genius.
Does muxtape not take m4a’s? It isn’t playing my stuff.
Not yet. Justin made mention of that being a future fix.
Beautifully simple. Here’s what I came up with:
seangaffney.muxtape.com
This is very nice. I like it. Account created.
It occurs to me that Justin may just have made the site in order to amass a huge new playlist for himself with minimal investment. Thanks for contributing to his new music library, guys :)
Can I just say how much I’m loving life listening to your mix? Quality.
Yes, Kyle, you can say that. I enjoy listening to it, too.
Wow… Trailer Park Avenue made it in the mix!!! I’m honored. Wheeee!!
Muxtape – Mix Tapes That Play Anywhere

It took me less than ten minutes to set-up blankenship.muxtape.com and populate it with some tasty tracks for you to listen to.
Muxtape is using Tumblr as a changelog and a way to release new features, which are multiple and apparently quickly forthcoming.
Kudos to Justin Oullette for all his work in getting this going. I think it’s an awesome project, I love being able to find new music in new ways, and I look forward to features for browsing other mixes more easily.
Update: Justin reports 1000 sign-ups in 4.5 hours.
