Arf, that’s abominable.
At least we don’t have to worry about this turning into some ubiquitous pop single.

I liked the record.

It’s funny to me how many actors want to be singers/rock stars.

It sounds like it was mixed badly. Even on the lo-fi video version it feels muddy, unbalanced, and bland.
The second viewing was much better though. I hit mute.

I heartily concur.

well then, i will shrink back into my hole….
I thought the record has the Spector wall of sound with elements of girl groups, Jesus & Mary Chain, Broadcast. The record was produced by the guy from TV On the Radio and the songs have tons of musical layers.
I’m not saying it’s a great record, but I found it interesting. If you want to take a listen, CLAME.

I actually dig this. Seriously. Got some Sinead O’Connor, Victoria Legrand, & Hope Sandoval. I don’t know what-the-f Jeremy is talking about, that mix is solid. It’s got David Bowie on it for peters sake.
It’s got a little cheese in there but the drums and guitar are Walkmen-like, which rules, and the actual songs themselves, well, it don’t get no better than Mr. Thomas Waits.
I like it. I don’t like her in movies. It’s MUCH FUCKING BETTER than She & Him. Which sounds like a dog puking.

Renaud, I agree. These guys like friggin’ John Mayer & Muse. How much can we really agree with them?

I like *some* of the record, but I hate the arrangement/instrumentation of Falling Down. And overall, I think the effort doesn’t live up to the source material. (Not that much could though, admittedly that cards are stacked against anyone, least of all an actress trying to be a musician.)

I’ll agree with that. The originals are unmatchable.
