Number 4 would have been my pick, but I’m sure the price of the set of 52 typographic nuggets could have been a possible reason to pull back on the reigns.
Whitney is fantastic, and I based some of the letterforms in the final logo on it, but ultimately I found it a tad too “friendly” for some of the large type signage applications I knew we’d be doing; it wasn’t the right fit. That, and the simple fact that it has SO MANY options, it would be easy to let it get away from us in terms of controlling branding. The less options, the less room for weirdness and lack of cohesion.
