Wed 07/09/08

In about 20 minutes, we’re having our first meeting to discuss the new visual identity and communications standards with some key staff leaders at NewSpring. Should be fun times.

At some point soon, I’ll make these available as PDF downloads.

Update: download them here

  1. Joshua,
I would really love to get my hands on these asap! I am right in the beginning stages of our church wide rebranding and was so pumped about your new direction and insights this morning. Thanks Man for all your hard work!

  2. Stoked to peruse these pages, and am excited to see your hard work pay off. So you’re taking a vacation after this, right?

  3. We haven’t been on an extended “real” vacation since our honeymoon, so yes, we’ll be vacationing in August-ish.

  4. The best part is going to be watching to see the various ways layworkers and volunteers totally butcher your carefully composed standards. Hint: stay away from the children’s ministry department.

  5. Which is exactly why our standards are simple and fairly loose when it comes to non-Communications/Arts Team created visuals. As in “use this font and don’t use Word art” simple.

  6. Oooo, can’t wait to see it. Gonna do the same for my church soon — only to have what Shane mentioned happen to my stuff. No worries. Happens at work, too.

Wish I could swing a full-time church gig.

Outside looks great…. BTW, you ever have to do a cookbook. Ugh. Let’s hear it for InDesign Data Merge.

  7. thanks for being willing to help out the little guy. it will be great to see what you’ve come up with.

  8. Hey Joshua, I don’t know that I’ve ever commented on your blog but I read it all the time. I can’t wait to see the PDFs. I’ve been following your progress on this project and it’s very interesting to me.

  9. Sam

Id be really interested in hearing the steps you took to created the rebranding.

  10. Steps:

    1. Don’t make it look like a church
    2. Repeat step 01
