Please don’t tell me this is out of some ill-conceived notion of dressing “age appropriate.” :-)
I’m not sure I could give up on the flip flops at work … but then again I still have 5 years to go.
I pretty much gave up even thinking about “fashion” and just wore whatever I wanted/liked when I turned 30. Its the only way to fly. Plus, fashion is expensive, long live Goodwill.
Being that I just turned 33, I would like to share my experience with you on these 5 points:
1. Flip-flops are & will always be an acceptable form of daily footware!
2. Agreed
3. Not too baggy, not emo tapered either
4. Dangerous, although, depending on the outfit, can be quite stylish
5. Yup.
I’ll be 30 in November. The 6th day.
1. Nothing.
2. See 1
3. See 1
4. See 1
5. See 1
all of these are decisions I make on a daily basis, and I don’t intend on stopping any time soon.
After just passing the 30 mark, I’ll throw my thoughts in as well.
1. You’ll change your mind on this. I hope.
2. This happened long before I hit 30. Don’t pitch them though, just turn them inside out. Definitely a conversation starter.
3. You shouldn’t be waiting to rid your wardrobe of ill-fitting denim. Don’t be that guy.
4. I concur.
5. Baggy khaki’s, while not clothing gold, are better than the opposite.
Anyone who wears khaki’s should be hung up their short hairs

Not really; the 30 benchmark is just an arbitrarily chosen upcoming one since it’s my next birthday. This list has little to do with age and everything to do with what I feel comformable in and what I think looks best on me.
Does this recent thinking come from watching too much mad men? Random Comment, I know, but watching mad men makes me want to dress up a little more.
No. I bailed out of Mad Men after about 6 or 7 episodes.
Mad Men rules.
Re: Flip flops in the workplace. Old feet get cold quickly.
Five Past and/or Current Fashion Decisions I Intend to Stop Making Prior to Turning 30 in June of 2009
Fri 08/29/08
1. Flip flops as viable daily work footware
2. 99% of screenprinted t-shirts
3. Ill-fitting denim
4. Belts with sharp-cornered buckles
5. Baggy khakis
