Chill out everyone…it’s gonna be ok.

The news of this clip is how much press it has received, not what she did or didn’t know. The clip is everywhere, and it’s very underwhelming. Katie Couric pressed her in some areas in which Palin obviously wasn’t prepared. Couric is also a very good reporter with a well documented left-leaning bias. Shocking that she was able to expose it. To me, that’s just not news.

The bias in the media is deafening.

I wholeheartedly agree on that. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that by calling Palin uninformed on the topic I’m saying “and the other guy obviously is awesome.” All I’m saying is “wow, in this interview, she didn’t have answers.”

In the same way, Biden, Obama and McCain have all not had answers to certain questions. But this video doesn’t feature them, it features Palin. And Palin comes across uninformed in this interview. That’s not bias, it’s simply talking about one thing at a time.

Why must Palin be able to recall all of McCain-sponsored bills over the past couple decades?

All? Unlikely. Some? That would be nice. I think if you’re going to say your running mate has a record of something, you should be able to at least back up that statement with an example or two. Otherwise it looks like you know nothing about your running mate, which is the sort of disconnect that is worrisome.

Can Biden remember what bills Obama sponsored? According to Biden in Dec, “Obama hasn’t passed any”; a blatantly false statement. But nobody seems to care that he’s woefully uninformed in some areas. Or that he slammed his own running mate for an ad about McCain’s inability to use a computer. How much press did that get?

Palin didn’t support or denounce the $700B bailout. So what? As of today, Friday, Obama hasn’t either. In fact, he did all he could do stay away from Washington and not have to take a stance on it until he got drug back by the administration. Come to think of it, he rarely takes a position on anything. “Somebody of [his] pay-grade isn’t qualified to decide when a person should be given human rights.” (Saddleback) Is that right, Mr. Obama? You’re running for the most powerful position in the world. Please, please, take a stance, AT LEAST, on who should be granted human rights. We might disagree with you, but take a stance. THAT could be the most troubling answer/issue of our times… not the economy. How much press did that get? Zero.

We all have areas of expertise. Hopefully we’ve got enough grace to look past relatively trite soundbite-length shortcomings and look at where they’ll benefit this great nation. The bias in the media is deafening.

I think that the interview really wasn’t very good. She really needs to be better prepared. Also, I am pretty unhappy with both campaigns for talking around issues and using everything little thing as a platform. I look forward to the debates and hope we hear some clear answers about real topics there.
