Question for Aaron: Do you have any kids? I wonder if that has much impact on the whole turning 30. Sometimes they make me feel young and full of hope, sometimes they make me feel helplessly old and like I am sliding down the back slope of my life.

Not that they do anything to make me feel that way, I think its the simple act of growing up before my eyes and my knowing that they will NEVER be that age again. It really emphasizes the linear nature of time.

Having turned 30 in March, I’m going to disagree with Anthony and say that it had zero affect on me. I’m not sure where Anthony is in his life, but I feel good about where I am in my life both personally and professionally., and I think that had a calming affect on the birthday. But, I’ve never been a birthday guy anyway, so maybe I’m not the norm.

Either way, have a good month. Use this to to something special, regardless of if you need it to validate your 30th or not.

I’m not saying you should do this, as I appreciate that it probably isn’t feasible, but one of the things I want to do in the next few years (I’m only 21 so 30 feels like a while away!) is to give away a whole paycheck to someone who’s in need, anonymously.

As much as I didnt want it to mean something, it did. I felt weird about it, a new sort of anxiety settled on me that I never felt before.

PS – You have a lovely wife and a great talent that you are crafting daily, so being 30 wont bother you like it might have otherwise. I mean, having something to show for your 20′s means a lot!
