A note from The Management: Hi, internet. I apologize for being non-existent since Wednesday afternoon. The good news is, I’ve moved to a shiny new server and all should be smooth sailing from here on out (as far as the internets go.)
A note from The Management: This domain had a random issue today involving neither human error nor an abdication of fiscal responsibility. Mysterious, right? Monday was a wash, but tomorrow you can go vote, so somehow in the grand scheme of the universe, it evens out.
A note from The Management: After almost five years of being online, I finally made myself a favicon today.
A note from The Management: I’m working on a ground-up rebuild/evolving of the dot com right now. I’ve learned approximately 9 zillion things since I first built it, so it will hopefully be faster, better and chock full of tasty typographic and grid-based treats. The same, but different. Soon-ish.
A note from The Management: Are you familiar with RSS feeds, PHP and automatic image resizing? Would you like to work with me on a super-simple small project? Would you like to barter said services for really classy large print(s) of illustration work or photography? Email me with relevant experience/interest if so.
A note from The Management: Would it be of any value to you, the reader, if there was a section of my site that aggregated all the content into one RSS feed? (Similar to .com/home, but even including some other stuff like del.icio.us bookmarks and the like?) Also, can anyone actually beta testing Virb 2 confirm that this is what it does?
A note from The Management: Testing out the Wordpress iPhone App at home. No landscape mode for typing lacks merit, but setting up multiple accounts was easy and the interface is quite nice.
A note from The Management: Apparently the sudden influx of traffic to So Serious has led to its temporary death/disappearance from cPanel. I’m trying to figure of what’s going on. Update: Back in business. Sort of… no ftp, but everything on your end should be golden.
A note from The Management: Apologies for the downtime today; not very Very Daily Weblog of me. Some server maintenance snipered most of my sites for most of the day, but everything should be back to normal.
A note from The Management: Mrs. Blankenship and I will be spending a few days in/near downtown Louisville, KY in late May. Wikipedia tells me that Louisville is home to a number of great museums and parks (and a slugger or two), but that’s about as far as my knowledge extends. What should we see, eat, experience, etc. while we’re there?
A note from The Management: I fixed some bugs for Firefox 3 yesterday, and that’s apparently thrown Firefox 2 for a loop today. I’m having an odd Wordpress bug where my first post isn’t styling correctly. I’m trying to track it down. Apologies for that.
A note from The Management: Weekends are always my low traffic days, so I’m going to upgrade to Wordpress 2.5. Patience if things look out of sorts for a bit.
A note from The Management: Help me out here: I’m looking for a simple Javascript image slideshow… just a fade from one image to another. No bells, whistles, extra text, or anything else. Any tips?
A note from The Management: In typography, a widow (or orphan) is a lone word or line of text that is left on the top of a page or column that was continued from a previous page or column. My question:
Is there a way to automatically get rid of widows/orphans in Illustrator? This is driving me crazy.
A note from The Management: I got my development css file and my live css file switched today, so the styling and floats on comments a few elements have gotten a tad screwy today. I’ll try to look into it later.
A note from The Management: In an effort to make my digital life even more portable and accessible, I have a question faithful readers: Bloglines or Google Reader? 1, 2, 3, go!
A note from The Management: So it “snowed” in upperstate South Carolina last night. The schools districts are closed for the day. Apparently that means our office is, too. Sometimes, having a TV would come in handy. Sigh…
A note from The Management: I have a 2.5-year-old Apple PowerPC G5 tower dual 2.5GHz with 2.5GB of RAM, a 160Gb harddrive, and a fresh install of OS X Leopard 10.5 as well as a 3 or 4-year-old Apple 23″ Cinema Display for sale for less than $2000. If you buy them both, you’ll get a better deal. Just shoot me an email if you’re interested.
A note from The Management: Happy New Year, faithful readers! On this, the 2nd day of 2008, I’ve started work at NewSpring Church. Regular posting will commence momentarily (or as soon as I find my bookmarks folder on my travel harddrive, whichever comes first.)
