The Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal

The Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal. The writer defines ubconscious art as a product of artistic merit that was created without conscious artistic intentions, such as the often times Rothko-esque finished “pieces” that occur when city workers (and the like) paint over graffiti. I know a lot of my painting influences I can trace back to things like this, unintentional patterns and textures in public spaces, layers of billboard paper, music fliers, etc. so this is fascinating (to me at least.)
