Mega Church Architecture

Really nice Slate article and slideshow on the architecture of modern mega churches. “The Gothic cathedral was designed to inspire awe and thoughts of transcendence. Megachurches celebrate comfort, ease and the very idea of contemporary suburban life.” I often wonder what we lose (in terms of inspirational spaces) when more bland, suburban architecture frames every church.
