Black Knight 2000, Childhood, and Pure Joy

If I could own one ridiculous, useless, there-only-to-bring-me-joy, extravagant item toy thingy, it would most likely be a pristine, completely functional Black Knight 2000 pinball machine.

I spent innumerable hours (and quarters) playing this machine in the back room of The Italian Kitchen in my small South Carolina hometown. It’s probably the most tangible thing (other than the house I grew up in) that I directly relate to my childhood. The last time I found one in an arcade, I played for four hours straight. One day, I will own it.

What’s your ridiculous, useless, there-only-to-bring-you-joy, extravagant item toy thingy?
