Sudan Does Not Want to Buy the World a Coke

John Ukec Lueth Ukec, the Sudanese ambassador to Washington, denies there has been genocide in Darfur calling it a “concocted idea.” In retailiation to the claims, he’s threatening to cut off exports of gum arabic, the emulsifier in soft drinks. Sudan produces 80% of the gum arabic we use, and this would apparently “bring down the Western world.” (We’re built on a foundation of carbonated beverages, didn’t you know?) You can watch video of Ukec’s speech here.
